The audio player above, plays most of the scriptures in this top section below.
It has been said that memorizing and studying God's word, are the most powerful ways to strengthen our minds. This is also how we most effectively abide with Christ. From my studies, I also believe that it is an important part of the sealing. (Lord willing, I hope to one day provide more on that in here.) With my dad having Alzheimer's dease, it came to my attention that many people of the world also believe that memory exersizes help to keep the mind strong and keep the dease from setting in. I know that focusing on God's Word it the best way.
I decided to share with you some of the memory tools that I have been working with, here on this page. And encouragement to set this into practise in your life. The red text, in the following scriptures, is to make it easy to spot the words that refer to the Word of God. Other emphasis is supplied to help point out the importance of having God's Word in us.
Consider these texts that help us see the importance of this:
"1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men." John 1:1-4
"14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." John 1:14
Jesus said:
"But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; 21Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended." Matthew 13:20-21
We need the Lord's help to have His Word rooted in us, so we can remember it, and not just remember it, but so it will bring forth the good fruit of a good character, that enjoys doing the things God wants us to. Please consider more of these texts, that make this even clearer.
"Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls." James 1:21
"1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keepa in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
(After reading the rest of this first: see this relating to the above text.)
"20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and healthb to all their flesh. 23 Keep thy heartwith all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Proverbs 4:20-23
"17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." John 17:17
"3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man". Proverbs 3:3-4
Jesus said, "If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." John 15:7
"9 BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
13 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth. 14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. 15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. 16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word." Psalms 119:9-16
"8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." 1 John 1:8-10
"14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one." 1 John 2:14
"Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;" Hebrews 1:3
"4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God." 1 Corinthians 2:4 & 5
"26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." John 14:26
I will be praying that you see the importance of this, and that He will help you acomplish it.
Some Spirit of Prophecy References Related to This Can Be Found Here.
With this audio player below, I read you the Spirit of Prophecy References, that the link above links to. Lord willing, I hope to improve this before long. The player will probably be on the page linked to above.
Printable Memory Cards
I am including here PDF files to my favorite memory verse cards that you can print out and share with others if you would like to. This PDF file tells you more about how these files work together. This one is for one side of the cards, and this one is for the other. This layout does require having the cards cut apart. If you’re not as familiar with this computer stuff, you can right click on the links (underlined words), and choose save as from the menu that pops up to save these files to your computer. You can then take them to, or email them to, some place to print them out for you. I would do all this for you, but I just have so many other things to do right now, I just can’t make it to every buddies place this afternoon. So feel free to help your self. The links on the right side are for the same files. If you're printing out these files to share with others, please leave the credits, so that others intrested in sharing these as well, will know where to find the files.
Audible MP3 Memory Texts
You can play these on your computer, or transfer them to any portable MP3 player. On a PC, right clicking, and choosing "Save Target As," works well. You'll probably need to unzip the files to play them. On this XP machine, I can play them, without specifically unziping them though. MP3 players will need them unzipped first. The links below are to the same files, as on the right, they're just explained more clearly herein, below.
I have been slowly working on recording my favorite texts so that I can listen to them while doing other things, or just quitely listening without having to read. I am also sharing these with you so that perhaps the Lord can use these as tools to tune up your mind a bit better, as He has been doing with mine. I personally review them often to try to keep these thoughts current in my mind. If I don’t, they just seem to fade off into the background, and are forgotten. I often play these while I am parying in the morning, to direct my thoughts in prayer. Many of the favorites are also in the flash cards, mentioned above. This web site builder only lets me upload 10 megs at a time, so I have some of them separate into zipped folders. You will likely need the unzipping tool which, I believe came with XP. I am sure others tools will unzip the files as well.
Prophecies and Fulfillments:
These links are to recordings of the Prophecies and Fulfillment’s of the Messiah.
The Love of God:
These are recordings of some of the texts that tell us about the Love of God.
The New Covenant:
The following recordings are of texts that refer to the new covenant. The topics of the New Covenant, and the Sealing, are related, and go hand in hand. They are also part of the process of putting on the robe of Christ.
The Sealing:
This is what God and the four angels are holding back the four winds of strife for. Christ, and God the father, want a people that are sealed for Them. Take note of Revelation 7:2&3 When God's people are truly sealed for Him, He will then be able to use them very effectively to finish His work. The decision was made, some time ago, that they were going to let the winds go. But Jesus asked the father to wait longer for His people to be Sealed. Please pray that the Lord will help us all to truly want this, in all of our lives. Consider 2 Peter 3:9, included in the Love of God section above.
These are my original favorites:
There is no paticular order or topic to these, just an assortment of texts that I enjoy reviewing. I discover this morning that some of these files contain multiple repeats of the same verse in one file. I didn't plan to put those ones in with this batch. I am planning to fix this issue before long. Download now, if you want to. Most are the way I intended. Then check back later for an improved file collection. At some point I have been planning to make up a folder with files that repeat verses for practise, and learning purposes. However, often it's nice just to here it once.
I have others recorded as well, I hope to add them here before long, but until then you can look in my briefcase if you want to. The briefcase also contains unzipped files for you to listen to, and or download if you want to. Lots of this is still under construction, as is this site, so please over look the mistakes. I just haven’t had time to make everything perfect, yet. But I figure I might as well share it with you, if your interested in it, rather than just letting it waste away in my hard drive, waiting until I can get back to it someday.
Other Links
Now I want to direct your attention toward a link or two.
With my Fire Fighting background, I appreciate the motto of this site: Fire Fighters for Christ. We are trying to rescue people from the fires of hell. I personally listen to files from this site almost every day. It contains the entire King James Bible in MP3 audio format, as well as many others. You can listen to individual chapters on the site, or download the entire Bible and play it on a MP3 Player, which is what I usually do, with my PDA. I have the entire thing that fits on one CD.
Fire Fighters.org King Jame Bible
I also listen to books from this site very often. Most are pretty good, I wish they were cleaned up a bit though, and may even set out to do that myself one day, but I just over look the little flaws for now. It might even be improved now anyway. It's been a while since my copies were made.
I especially recommend the first one they have listed.
Download these if you want to.
These are explained in more detail in the center.
When Sharing, please leave the credits, so that others will find them here.
